Black Friday MOAD Top Tips!

So here we go, Black/Green Friday week! As most businesses have been so badly affected, it is understandable that a lot of small local businesses would not be involved in Black Friday this year. But for the larger companies that are, I have another post to go up tomorrow with a list of what to expect over the next few days.

#GreenFriday is a great promotion to encourage consumers to buy products from local, independent Irish businesses. Keep in mind some small local business sometimes cannot do big discounts, but they are essential for our economy and this cannot be more true in these times. Every year I would spend both online and locally and I’d keep eye out for bespoke thoughtful gifts at very reasonable prices.

My top Tips this Black Friday:

- Make sure your buying from a trusted website, check the website if you are unsure with trustpilot website. Only buy from sites you trust & know.

- If you see an item on sale, do a quick search online to see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere, but please also search smaller retailers closer to home. They really need your support this year.

- If you’re like me & holding off purchasing anything this week, my advice is:

If you don’t need it now & can hold off for another few days to see if the item comes down cheaper for Black Friday, then I would say wait! A lot of stores & businesses have started their Black Friday sales already to get in before everyone else.

- If you spot something that you think is a good offer and you’re not quite sure about the product, I’d recommend searching for a review on YouTube, you’d be surprised at the info you’ll find.

- It is so easy to get carried away with Christmas & to buy unnecessary items. My advice would be make a list, stick to it & to a budget.

- Check Amazon sales by checking different websites like keepa.com or Camelcamelcamel to keep track of the price.

- Another great app I’ve used last few years is the Gift List app that I’ve mentioned on my Instagram page. It is such handy way to keep track of what presents you already have and what you need to pick up, so you are not over buying or if your like me, put it away & forget what you have already bought for that person!!

- Check the return policy, if you have to pay to return the item?

- Look at Revolut / SuperValu rewards to get further value on your purchases

(Revlout gives cashback on certain purchases)

(SuperValu to mention a few; 2% back as real rewards points for; Littlewoods Ireland, Easons Ireland, Lifestyle sports, Louis Copeland - 3% back as real rewards points for; Regatta - 6% back; Holland & Barrett)

- If you are an AIB customer, check their everyday rewards offer. When you use your AIB visa

card, you get €10 back on your next purchase of €100 or more on Smyths toys.
