Perfect Girls' Getaway Experience

Myself and my close friend Emma stayed in Johnstown Estate for an unforgettable girls’ getaway package, we were pampered from the moment we arrived.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at the hotel carpark, was the amount of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. They have Tesla Supercharge points and 2 additional Universal Electric Vehicle Charging points which are suitable for Hybrid Vehicles and standard EV, bonus as the hotel is located near the M4 motorway, exit 9 and only 15 minutes from the M50. The location is perfect.

When we walked in the doors, we were greeted by welcoming staff, the smell of Christmas, fire lit in the lobby, just makes you feel right at home. Ioana welcomed us and gave a tour around to see the stunning hotel. After we checked in, we went straight to the Spa for Afternoon tea in the Spa Cafe. The Afternoon tea consists of, selection of fresh sandwiches, with lots of varieties of items to choose from, freshly baked scones with cream and homemade pastries, with a lovely pot of tea and freshly brewed coffee - it was divine and great way to start our stay.

After we went to the thermal suite. We were greeted and showed around by the spa manager Sarah. She gave us our own bag with robe, towels & flip flops.

We spent 60 minutes exploring the indoor and outdoor Thermal Experience. It was an amazing. The outdoor rooftop has Jacuzzi and a hydrotherapy pool. Indoors they have hot and cold thermal therapies, steam room, salt chamber, Tropical showers and a dry sauna. We chilled out on the relaxing heated lounger where we chatted for ages!!

We then went and had the most relaxing taster facial, which included a quick neck shoulder massage (to take away all the tension out of my shoulders) and a sleep inducing head massage, it was so relaxing!! I melted on the bed!! My therapist was so lovely, she made me feel so comfortable (hence why I have no personal photos of the treatment room, I lived in the moment and completely relaxed!)

After we floated up to our room, totally relaxed in our robes! We were brought up to our room, where our bags were waiting for us, we learned that the hotel upgraded us to the “Mulberry Suite” - when I say it was stunning… it was STUNNING! We walked in saying Wow about 100 times!!

The Mulberry is a luxe suite designed to hold 6 guests across two interconnecting bedrooms, which is perfect for girls getaway.

The lounge area seats the entire group and contains the essentials for the ultimate girly getaway including a wine fridge, Nespresso machine, 50” TV and a Bluetooth Bose speaker. It was a perfect place to settle in and catch up, plus they had selection of great magazines, total chill out area!

Not only that, when we looked in the bathroom, it had 2 separate showers!! And as for the four LED-lit hair and makeup stations – perfect to ensure flawless hair & make-up!

But the piece that topped it all off, was having our own king size bed EACH! The room has 2 king size beds… all to ourselves!!

We got ready and headed down to the Parterre - their cocktail bar! Wide selection of cocktails on the menu, we were seated with glass of fruit juice, to get us ready for the delicious cocktails! The decor is stunning, perfect spot for those Instagram photos!

Headed for dinner in the Fire & Salt Restaurant at 8pm. We had a 4 course dinner, from start to finish it was delicious. We had a tasty amuse-bouche, I had the wild rocket salad and my friend had Whisky Cured Salmon. For main course we both had the Chargrilled Sirloin of Irish Angus Beef - it was so tasty, with side of roasted potatoes, with a delicious glass of wine!! Dessert I had the Valrhona Chocolate Fondant and Emma had the Warm Sticky Toffee pudding.

We rolled out of the restaurant and up to the room to chat some more and jumped into our own cosy beds! They were so comfortable, with plenty of pillows to snuggle into! Have to say, it was so divine!

Next morning, we had a little sleep-in! and headed down for breakfast in the Fire & Salt restaurant, where it was all set up for continental and hot breakfasts. We both ordered poached eggs from the kitchen, but they also had pancakes and omelettes available. They had fresh fruit, breads, pastries and cereals. For the hot breakfasts they had a great selection of everything you would need. Teas, Coffees and fruit juices available. A hearty breakfast was the perfect way to start our day.

The perfect end to a perfect stay, it was really fabulous.

The hotel is decorated now for Christmas, so its magical stay with all their Christmas decorations, trees and twinkling lights.
