Everything I know so far about Amazon’s Big Prime Deal Days 2023 starting October 10th & 11th

Amazon are running another big sale event in October to follow on from the Prime day they had in July. This is a great time to check out items on offer & keep track of your prices and it’s a good time to get your offers / bargains, before the Black Friday sales start, to get delivered well before the ‘Big day’!

If your kids are like mine and once the Smyth’s catalogue came in the door! Now is a great time to check out the ‘wanted list’ to be prepared!! It also gives you more time to spread out the cost before December.

And of course, not forgetting ourselves, it’s never too early to start writing up your wish list for the Big sale!! Below, we’re breaking down everything you need to know ahead of the event.

What is Prime Big Deal Days 2023?

Prime Day is Amazon’s annual sale event exclusively for Prime members. It features two days of special savings on thousands of items across all product categories.

When is Prime Big Deal Days 2023?

Amazon announced that Prime Big Deal Days will take place this year on October 10th and 11th 2023.

Last year, the Prime Early Access Sale took place on Oct. 11th and 12th, so it’s running in line with last years dates.

How to prepare for Prime Big Deal Days:

First thing is, you have to be a Prime member: To become a Prime member, you can try Amazon Prime for FREE for 30 days using this link, after which your membership will cost £8.99/month after free trial or £95/year after your free 30 day trial. You can cancel anytime. You will have access to the full range of Amazon Prime benefits for the full 30 days - the best is the free delivery!

What’s included when you are a Prime member?

1) Free Premium delivery: Super-fast delivery on millions of eligible items. Get your order in two days in Ireland. Cut-off times do apply so please check the product page when you place your order. More info link here (Please also check the items you are buying are fulfilled by Amazon).

2) Prime Video: Prime Video is the only place where you can watch Amazon Originals

3) Amazon Music Prime & Prime reading: All of the music you love + top podcasts, ad-free: Discover new music and podcasts based on your likes and listens. Hundreds of playlists, featuring Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Paloma Faith, P!nk, and Coldplay. Each month, Prime members get access to a rotating selection of eBooks, magazines, comics and more!

4) Stream or download hit movies and TV exclusives: As a Prime member, you can watch thousands of popular movies and TV shows at no extra cost, including Amazon Originals.

Early access to deals, share benefits in your household, unlimited storage with Amazon Photos, are only available to Prime members.

How I find the best Amazon deals:

Download the Amazon app on your phone or on laptop/ computer - bookmark the Amazon Deals page, to make it quicker to buy the deals on offer as they tend to sell out very quickly and new deals will be added throughout the sale event. Check the Deals page early on the Big day!

Download the app called Keepa, its a handy guide to track the best prices across Amazon website. Yiu can set up price alerts & it also tracks the price for the cheapest price the item you are looking for is available.

What are the best sales to expect?

Amazon hasn’t officially announced any specific deals, but on Prime Day, we saw savings from electronics, to small household items. Based on what we saw this summer, here are some of the deals we expect to occur this year:

Deals on Top brands like: Oral B, Philips and more, XBox wireless controllers, Apple Airpods, Top Toy sales, up to 55% off Kitchen appliances and offers on Airfryers etc!

Amazon Ireland & custom charges from UK:

Back in August 2022 – Amazon Ireland opened a new 630,000-square-foot fulfilment centre in Baldonnell Business Park in Dublin. This centre will store millions of items that will be picked, packed and shipped to customers around Ireland and the rest of Europe.

I only buy items on Amazon which is dispatched by Amazon or Fulfilled by Amazon. NOT by 3rd party seller, you might be illegible for customs. Always check the “Dispatches from / Fulfilled By” area when checking out, incase the items are arriving from the UK.

At checkout out, it will calculate if it’s coming from UK or Ireland. If it’s coming from UK it will calculate Custom charges at final price you pay, so you know exactly how much the item costs.
